I always thought my edits were good

I’ve always thought my edits were good and for the most part they are. Recently I took a deeper dive into Lightroom and it’s editing, and black and white conversion capabilities and I’m impressed. With some masking and localized adjustments, I was able to gain a greater tonal range and improved detail. In the past I’ve run some testing as to how color effects black and white conversions and discovered that it makes a huge difference. It’s critical to get the color right before any black and white conversion. I’ll make a video on the Lightroom processes used in this example but for now the results speak loudly. Below are the original Photoshop edit and the Lightroom edit.
